What's Cooking? Good Looking!

A little bit of Experience

My name is Mr. Z.
I have been in the restaurant business for 20 years now.
I would like to share my story with you.
After 9 years in the restaurant business, I decided to take the risk and open my first restaurant business.
Of course as a new kid I didn’t look much into the contract like I would do today. There was one mistake I’ve made, and it’s not noticing they ( the mall ) have a 30 day notice to evict us in case of construction. Boom after 10 months had to close. Lost a big chunk of change.
I Had an opportunity in a different city, to take a franchise and open a store.
The idea was to have training of a few months until we find a new location. Of course it took longer than expected. Which is great! After a while I got to learn that my business partner is not the right partner for me. So we had to “break up”, and I’ll never forget that he told me: “You have nothing to show, you know nothing in this business”. I will never forget that moment.
Well I guess that is what I needed to hear.
After that “Break Up” I had few opportunities to help other businesses to open their doors.
Unfortunately these two businesses had the same problem. Great concept in a horrible Location!!!
After I was done with the second project, I had an opportunity to open a local cafe.
After the first year, Returned investment and the debt that I still carried from the old business.
Today I’m very happy where I’m at!
My restaurant is working (Even through Covid), and my consulting company is still running.
This is a little about me.
Can’t wait to write my next post!
